He was predeceased by: his wife Viola; his daughter Carol Oakes; his grandson Michael Meyer; and his brother Marvin. He is survived by: his children, Nancy Davis (Al), Roger Meyer (Shelley) and Larry Meyer (Libby); and his son-in-law Dick Oakes. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

At the end of his life, Orval struggled with Alzheimer's.
