He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Eckels and Margaret R Nauman Hutchison; and his brother-in-law Fred Geis. He is survived by: his wife Elvira "Ellie" C. Geis; his son Robert "Bob" Hutchison (Kristi) of Florence, AZ; his grandsons, Matthew Hutchison of Cedar Falls and Cory Hutchison of Breckenridge, CO; his cousins, Sue of Osage, Gary Schulz of Osage and Judy Champion of Osage; and his siblings-in-law, Edda McCalley, Magda O'Lear, Linda Solomen (Bill Spivey), Gerda Wolfe and Frankie Geis. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
