Maxine C. Hughes Obituary

We are sad to announce that on June 2, 2020, at the age of 100, Maxine C. Hughes of Waterloo, Iowa, born in Chicago, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis Orr and Julia Carmody Orr; her husband Max V. Hughes; her sister Margaret Rogers; her great grandchild Donovan James; and her great great grandchild Paisley Jo Bennett.

She is survived by: her children, Mike Hughes (Linda) of Omaha, Neb., Mark Hughes of Waterloo, Marty Hughes (Dee) of Waterloo, Mary James (Rick) of Galesburg, Ill, Martha Stephenson (Jim) of Sioux City and Melissa Kerby (Wayne) of Weems; her grandchildren, Lori Bruner, Matthew Hughes (Kathy), Marc Hughes (Carol), Lisa Bennett (Bryon), Jonathon James, Josh James (Erica), Patrick James (Stephanie), Zach James (Joni), Jennifer Hughes, Nick Stephenson, Bridget Stephenson, Jacob Stephenson and Seaton Kerby; and her great grandchildren, Alexander, Alyssa Bruner, Jack, Max, Caden, Brooklyn Hughes, Hank, Jane Hughes, Cody Bennett (Jessica), Rachelle Bennett, Samuel, Benjamin James, Owen, Annabelle James and Cameron Clayton.
