She was predeceased by: her spouse A. E. "Gene" Armstrong; her daughter Colleen Carstens; and her sisters, Velma Moe and Adeline Burgett. She is survived by: her children, Christine Jennings (Greg) of Pensacola, Fla., Greg Armstrong (Kathy) of Beaver Dam, Wis, Mike Armstrong (Vicki) of Quincy, Ill, Trish O'Loughlin of Independence, Paula Pearson (Doug) of Ankeny and Cheryl Babin (Tim) of St. Charles; her son-in-law Scott Carstens; and her siblings-in-law, LaVonne Armstrong and Arnet Moe. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; several close nephews and nieces.
