He was predeceased by: his father John Sliekers; and his brother Jeff Sliekers (Kim). He is survived by: his mother Delores "Jean" Sliekers (Lydon) of Waterloo; his children, Justin Sliekers (Dessie) of Ankeny, Audrey Kerns (Dennis) of LaPorte City, Roseanne Sliekers (John Chavez) of Ankeny and Laura Christensen (Ryan) of Ankeny; and his siblings, Teri Sliekers of Waterloo, Lynn Knecht (Mark) of Nashua, Sarah Sliekers of Littleton and Tyson Sliekers of Waterloo. He is also survived by three grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Tower Park (4140 Kimball Ave, Waterloo, IA 50701).
