He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Nichols and Geneva Ohloff Nichols; his wife Diane Davis; his siblings, Lores, Ronald, Gerald, John Nichols and JoAnn Chase; his siblings-in-law, Arlita Nichols, Jackie Davis, Steve Gehrke and Jim Larson; his nephew Larry Nichols; and his niece Lindsay Nichols.
He is survived by: his close friend Becky Vauthier; his children, Michelle Folkerts (Bob) of Allison, David Nichols (Morgan) of Waterloo and Rhonda Chiattello (Mark) of Cedar Falls; his siblings, Robert Nichols (Roberta) of Evansdale, William Nichols (Mary) of Evansdale, Glenda Larson of Cedar Falls and Cathy Sheeley (Doug) of Waterloo; his siblings-in-law, Jurly Nichols of Evansdale, Betty Nichols of Mason City, Norma Nichols, Leland Davis (Vickie) and Don Davis; and his great grandchild Casey Nichols. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
