She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Novotny and Emma Novotny (Kalinay); her husband James Nelson; her son Donald; and her siblings, Sylvester, Paul, Leo, Blanch Novotny, Cecilia Sieck and Charlotte Beecher.
She is survived by: her pet Christopher; her sister-in-law Joyce Ruisch of Leawood, KS; her close friend Carmella Dee; and also Barbara Dee. She is also survived by 34 nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews.
