She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin Esser and Ruth Andrews Esser; her daughter Nancy Fairbanks; her daughter-in-law Pam Hubrig; and her siblings, Robert Esser, Charlotte Neu and Ruth Schinabeck.

She is survived by: her children, Dennis of Waterloo, Scott Hubrig of Waterloo, Steve Hubrig of Laredo, Texas and Jayne Slaughter (Dennis) of Waterloo; her grandchildren, Jason Hubrig (Jennifer), Joshua Hubrig (Jennifer), Brock Fairbanks (Katrina), Laura Kockelkorn (Peter), Jennifer Fassett-Thompson, Jill Sires (Levi), Jodi Reisner (Shane) and Ian Hubrig (Emily); and her brother John Esser of Grand Rapids, Mich.. She is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren.
