With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Leora Ketchens Sallis of Waterloo, Iowa, born in Pickens, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 16, 2024 at the age of 79. She was predeceased by: her parents, L. D. Ketchens and Mary Ellen Ketchens (Madison); and her siblings, Lucille Madison, Willie, Thomas, John Henry and Emory Ketchens.
She is survived by: her son Rodney Ketchens; her grandchildren, Derek Moon and Simone Ketchens; her great grandchild Kingston Moon; and her siblings, Earsie Ketchens, Elizabeth Levy, Eula Reed, Shirley Dorsey and Linda Madison. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
