He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Wilkins and Gladys Wilkins (Roberts); his wife Virginia Rose Ball; and his siblings, Margaret Cochran, Marva Pringnitz, Lorraine Lester and Leon Wilkins.
He is survived by: his daughter Teresa "Terri" Gerst (Brian) of Waterloo; his grandsons, Matt Gerst of Des Moines and Andrew Gerst of Waterloo; and his niece Carolyn Peterson (Tom) of Cedar Falls.
