With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Laurence M. Johnson (Waterloo, Iowa), born in Frederika, Iowa, who passed away on February 12, 2019 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Johnson and Clara Johnson (Pike); his wives, Norma and Merna; his siblings, Veryl Johnson, Everett Johnson and Patricia Zubak; and his sons-in-law, Dennis Steffeney and Frank Stark.
He is survived by: his children, Sandra Steffeney-Stark of Seattle, Marilyn Grice (Steve) of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Rod Johnson (Jane) of Knob Noster and Jeff Johnson (Julie) of Rochester, Minn.; and his grandchildren, Chad Nordman (Leah) of Cedar Falls, Anna Steffeney (Mike Brandimarte) of Seattle, Brian Grice (Ann) of Maple Grove, Sara Halse (Richard) of Lenexa, Shannon Okounghae (Max) of Kansas City, Ian Johnson (Deana) of Kansas City and Ben Johnson of Rochester. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
He volunteered with the Boy Scouts, the Waverly Museum, and the Alzheimer's Board.
