He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Merlin and LaVonne Cora Walters (Olson); and his siblings, Linda Walters and Gerald Ackerman. He is survived by: his wife Jane; his children, Tonia Walters (Forrest Green) of Cedar Rapids, Christy Judd of Joplin and Darrell Flannery (Rhonda) of Nixa; his sister-in-law Christina Ackerman (Steward) of Noblesville; his nephews, Eric Ackerman (Melissa) of Carmel and Kurt Ackerman of Zionsville; and his aunt Beverly Walters of Yorktown, VA.. He is also survived by three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Black Hawk County Veterans Affairs (1407 Independence Ave. Waterloo, Iowa 50703) would be greatly appreciated.
