She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Emerson and Emma "Dixie" Petersen Emerson; her stepfather Joseph Schaffer; her sisters, Joan Weltzin (Ernest Jr.), Jean Even (Norbert "Nubs") and Karol Emerson; her stepbrothers, LeRoy Schaffer (Sherleen) and Lloyd Schaffer (Barbara); and her brother-in-law Joe Corcoran.
She is survived by: her husband David Chilcote; her children, Lutricia "Trish" Chilcote of Waterloo and Tim Chilcote of Waterloo; her grandchildren, Carli Chilcote (Kyle Loy) and Sam Chilcote; her brother Ralph Emerson, Jr. (Joan) of Cedar Falls; and her stepsister Linda Corcoran of Nebraska. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
