She was predeceased by: her parents, Leslie Joseph and Helen DeEtta Hawkey (Beatty); and her siblings, Leslie, Harold, Thomas, Lorene, Helen, Annabelle, Kay and Donna.
She is survived by: her children, Donita McCarville (David) of Waterloo, IA, Donald Jr. Akin (Terri) of Manhattan, KS, Richard Akin (Sandy) of Kelseyville, CA, Pamela Rice (Brian) of Omaha, NE and Michael Akin (Dianna) of Ninety Six, SC; and her sister-in-law Dorothy Church of Sioux City, IA. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Memorial Park (6605 Morningside Ave, Sioux City, IA 51106).
In lieu of flowers, the family recommends donations to St. Jude's in Juanita's memory.
