She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard Ollendieck and Irma Ollendieck; her husband James J. Sweeney Jr.; her daughter Glenda Marie Connor; and her siblings, Doris Ferrie, Marion Ollendieck, Jean McCarville, Judy Tucker, Donald, Robert, Richard and Dean Ollendieck.
She is survived by: her children, Kathy Hoth (Dave) of Waterloo, IA, Janet Swanson of Apple Valley, MN, Bruce Sweeney (Wendy) of Waterloo, IA and Scott Sweeney (Hamdi Binbrek) of Princeton, NJ; her brothers, Charles Ollendieck of Florida and Kenneth Ollendieck (Dalene) of Buckingham, IA; and her sisters-in-law, Bernice, Dulcie, Lois, Sonia, Marge Sweeney, Sherry Zeigler and Sue Griffith. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (627 W 4th St, Waterloo, IA 50702).
Memorials can be made to Alzheimer's Association, Cedar Valley Hospice, Friendship Village-Wellspring, Sacred Heart Church.
