It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joan Reiter of Waterloo, Iowa, who passed away on February 23, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Bovy and Loretta Bovy (Schmitz); her daughter Mary; her grandson Kanen; her siblings, Raphael, Joseph and Elizabeth "Betty" Lund; and her in-laws, Marvin Lund, James Keough, Clem Jr. Reiter (Edith), Robert Reiter (Marlene) and Leonard Zmolek.
She is survived by: her husband Richard Reiter; her children, Tim Reiter (Jody), Roger Reiter (Pam), Loretta Doepke (Steve), Annette Pillar (David) and Charlotte Nielsen (Ronald); her sister Alberta Keough; and her in-laws, Mardeen Bovy, Colleen Bovy, Kathleen Zmolek, Kenny Reiter (Donna) and Terry Reiter (Diane). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren.
A rosary will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Hagarty Waychoff Grarup Funeral Service (400 South St, Waterloo, IA 50701). Visitation will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (650 Stephan Ave, Waterloo, IA 50701).
