He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin Tietjens and Sylvia Tietjens (Gilpatrick); his brother Dale Tietjens; and his sister-in-law Barb Tietjens. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Tietjens; his children, Carrie Lekar of Waterloo, Lori Kutz of Waterloo, Dan Tietjens of Waterloo and Tim Tietjens (Mary) of Pasadena, Texas; his grandchildren, Kori Lekar, Ashley Sawyer (Matt), Melanie Kutz, Shannon Kutz, Jared Lekar, Garrett Tietjens (Megan), Hannah Tietjens and Patrick Kutz; and his great grandchild Jayce Zuck. He is also survived by great grandchildren, a niece and nephews.
