She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Leonard and Eleanora Thelma Long (Medhaug); her husband Gerald W. Petersen; and her brothers, Bill, Sam and Marty Long.
She is survived by: her children, Lori Steimel (Leo) of Waterloo, Rory Petersen of Marshalltown, Debby Silber of Galesburg, IL, Dawn Petersen of Toledo and Melissa Petersen of Waterloo; her grandchildren, Alexander, Amanda, Ariell, Tyler, Olivia, Alex, Emily, Marissa, Katie, Maya, Isaac, Isabelle and Ari; her great grandchildren, Dallas, Rosalee, Adler, Anthony and Freddy; her sister Ellen Huston of Waterloo; and her daughter-in-law Laura Castell of State Center.
