She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Nielsen and Lydia Nielsen (Heinemann); her husband Robert L. Blake, Sr.; her children, Joseph, Mary Blake, Cheryl Blake and Theresa Carolus; and her siblings, Jim, Donald Nielsen, Gene, Harold Taylor and Bernice Gaede.
She is survived by: her children, Donna Melendrez (Ernie) of Toledo, Bill Blake (Kay) of Ruthven, Robert Blake, Jr. (Sheila) of Mason City, Ken Adams of Fairbault, Christine Benham (Steve) of Cedar Falls, Janece Shaffer (Joseph Einertson) of Cedar Falls and Troy Benham (Katie) of Marion; and her siblings, Jackie Steffen (Vince) of Cedar Rapids and Richard "Rocky" Nielsen of Waterloo. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren.
