He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Rigdon and Hariett Rigdon (Brown); his former wife Delores Eldridge; his brothers, Irvin, Duane and John; and his nephew Travis Rigdon.

He is survived by: his wife Janet Green; his children, Joey Rigdon (Kristy) of Fairbank, Kimberly Freeman (Kevin) of Cedar Falls, Mark McDermott of Cedar Rapids, Steve McDermott (Lisa) of Olathe, Kristi Schmitt (Dave Jones) of Cedar Falls and Richard McDermott of La Palma, California; and his siblings, Jerry Rigdon, Russell Rigdon Jr. and Linda Shatzer. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
