He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis W. Smith and Opal E. Honaker Smith. He is survived by: his former wife Joan B. Cohea; his wife Rowena Joyce Allan Ehlenfeldt of Waterloo; his son Kelvin "Kelly" Smith (Marcie); and his stepdaughters, Susan Dufel (Don) of Hudson and Deborah Rubenbauer (Ron) of Marshalltown. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
