He was predeceased by: his parents, Howell H. Stroup and Ida L. "Delight" Stroup; and his siblings, Kenneth Watts, Luther, James, Harvey, Harold, Albert Benefield, Jane Turner, Ima Jean Luttrell, Helen Merriman, Martha O'Rear and Kathryn Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Hetrick; and his children, Daniel (Vicky) of Readlyn and Dawn Lyon (John) of Spencer. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
