He is survived by: his son Gary Van Brocklin (Lynn A.) of Waterloo; his daughter-in-law Lynn M. Van Brocklin of Dallas, TX; his grandchildren, Grant Van Brocklin (Nicole) of Cedar Falls, Reed Van Brocklin (Tracey) of Jesup, Sara Kelsey (Brandon) of Waterloo and Jena Marlatt (Mike) of Kathleen, Georgia; his great grandchildren, Gavin, Jace Van Brocklin, Jackson Miller, Dominick Deutsch, Jaime, Eva Marlatt and Joshua Van Brocklin; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Ally Baker of Cedar Falls and Riley Richmond of Sumner; his sister Doloris Schmidt of Tripoli; and his close friend Doris Zangerle of Waterloo.
