He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Fairbanks and Thelma Fairbanks (Ralston); his wife Darlene Howrey; his sons, Mark and David; and his siblings, Marilyn Whitesell, Bevery Nichols, Sharon Shellenberger, Arnie and Floyd Jr. Harry.
He is survived by: his children, Tim Fairbanks (Bonnie), Miriam Kauten (Steve), Steve Fairbanks (Jill Williamson) and Joe Fairbanks (Ronda); his daughter-in-law Diane Fairbanks; and his brother-in-law Don Shellenberger. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
