He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Schilling and Lou Schilling (Meiners); and his siblings, Jeff, Randy, Steve, David, Ron Schilling and Janet Walker.

He is survived by: his wife Carla Carrier; his sons, Dennis Schilling (Kara) of Dunkerton, Mark Schilling (Marilou) of Cedar Rapids and Philip Schilling (Darcy) of Waterloo; his siblings, Jerry Schilling of Minnesota, Tom Schilling of Charles City, Dan Schilling of Charles City, Connie Palmersheim (Rick) of Charles City and Lori Schilling-Kamara of Minnesota; and his siblings-in-law, Keith Walker and Gloria Schilling. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
