He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy McClain and Pearl Chase McClain; his former wife Blanche Schulte; his wife Helen Marie Lynch; his sons, Mike McClain and Bruce McClain; his grandson Jason Lown; and his children-in-law, Robert Lynch and Patty McClain.
He is survived by: his children, Gary McClain of Waterloo, Kevin McClain of Waterloo and Vicki Lynch of Evansdale; and his daughter-in-law Angie McClain of Ames. He is also survived by four grandchildren and five great- grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
