She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Tompkins and Effie Tindell Tompkins; her son Mervin Remley; her siblings, Doris Scarrow, Theodore Tompkins and Kenny Nielsen; her half-brother Arnold Biedermann; her grandchildren, Sherry Schneider Dehoet and Rick Schneider; and her great grandchild Adam Schneider.
She is survived by: her daughters, Laura Usher of Waverly, Barbara Schneider (Gary) of Waverly and Carol Matz of Waterloo; her stepdaughter Maryann Bartz (Don) of Forest City; and her half-brother Jerry Stille (Marlys) of Lake Mills. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 35 great-great grandchildren.
