He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Carl and Della Agnes Geer; his wife Shirley Ann; his daughter Shirley D. Menning; his granddaughter Kristy Gilligan; his siblings, Betty J. Dahse, Marilyn Sass and Russell Menning; and his niece Charmaine Dahse Menning.
He is survived by: his children, Gerald J. Menning Jr. (Michiko) of Waterloo, David Allen Menning of Waterloo and Beverly Jane Menning of Kaufman, Texas. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home (218 2nd St SE, Waverly, IA 50677). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
