He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Shannon and Doris Shannon (Campbell); his wife Lucille; and his children, Bud Shannon, Connie Brewer and Geri White.

He is survived by: his children, Shelly Shannon of Waterloo and Rick Shannon (Kim) of Olathe, KS; and his grandchildren, Sarah Shannon of Waterloo, Toby Edmondson Jr. (Jennifer) of Evansdale, Scott Shannon of Olathe, KS, Michael Terry of Weed, Diana Deserano of Cedar Rapids and Angie Bertram (Mark) of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
