He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Skarlis and Evangeline Manolis Skarlis; his spouse Shirley Pannhoff; his children, Thomas Skarlis and Susan Ott-Wisner; his brothers, Gus Skarlis and Anthony "Tony" Skarlis; and his godfather Tom Galios.
He is survived by: his son John Skarlis (Angela) of Cedar Falls; his daughter-in-law Michelle Buhrow (Brad) of Denver, IA; his brother James Skarlis (Sandra) of Waterloo; his sister-in-law Nancy Skarlis of Vero Beach, FL; and his godmother Joy Galios (Mark Ott) of Denver, CO. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church.
