It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George L. Smith of Waterloo, Iowa, born in Fairbank, Iowa, who passed away on December 25, 2021, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Smith and Anna Haehn Smith; his son Michael Smith; and his siblings, Harold, Donald, Francis, Marvin, Thelma, Kathryn, Marlys and Virginia.
He is survived by: his wife Mildred Hannan; his daughter-in-law Debra Dodds of Waterloo; his granddaughters, April Muller Janesville (Ryan) and Anna Beck (John) of Waterloo; his great grandchildren, Hailey Russell (Ben) of Waterloo, Mitchell Paeper (Kloe Pilipchuk) of Cedar Falls, Maddie Paeper (Blake Rice) of Waterloo and Sophia Muller of Janesville; his great great grandchildren, Jameson Russell of Waterloo and Gracelynn Rice of Waterloo; and his sisters-in-law, Linda Hannan of Oelwein and Karen Lamphier of Grinnell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
