He was predeceased by: his parents, L. Orville Grimes and Irene Grimes (Peterson); his sister Cynthia; his brother-in-law Ron Thomas of Marshalltown; and his parents-in-law, Floyd and Vivian King of Cedar Rapids.
He is survived by: his wife Vicki Sue King; his daughter Tiffani Siegel (Ryan); his grandchildren, Isabelle and Avery of Highland Park, Illinois; his sons, Ryan McGuire Grimes (Paul) of Robbinsdale and Remko Kuling (Saskia Kuling Jacobs); his grandchildren, Isa and Eva of Breda; his brother-in-law Jack Wortman (Deanne) of North Liberty; his nieces, Kirstin Pires of Madison, Wisconsin, Lori Stabenow (Larry) of Liscomb, Heather Richardson (Rick) of Berkey, Ohio, Britt Searles (Steve) of Salida, Colorado and Carrie Godfrey (Greg) of Cedar Rapids; and his nephew Eric Wortman (Wendy) of Iowa City. He is also survived by eight great-nieces and great-nephews.
