He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Habinck and Ada Habinck (Castle); his wife Nancy Frazee; and his siblings, LeRoy Habinck and Judy Habinck.

He is survived by: his children, Julie Huebner (Darrell) of Waterloo, Gale Habinck (Shannon) of Cedar Falls, John Habinck (Tresa) of Waterloo and Joel Habinck (Karie) of Cedar Falls; his grandchildren, Kenny, Jeremiah Huebner (Ali), Jordan Habinck, Haley Reuscher (Micah), Samantha, Jayda, Alyssa, Olivia, Ethan, Isaac, Audrey Habinck and Kaleb Grimm; his great grandchildren, Briggs Huebner and Arya Grimm; and his sister Betty Kunze (Gary) of Mapleton.
