With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Evan Hultman in Waterloo, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 16, 2025 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Norman Hultman and Laura Cox Hultman; his wife Betty; and his brother Gene Hultman. He is survived by: his children, Stevan Kent Hultman of Chanhassen, Minn, Susan Jane Hultman of Iowa City and Heidi Ann Warrington of Waterloo; and his sister Joyce Jensen. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Veterans Memorial Hall (1915 Courbat Ct, Waterloo, IA 50701). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Westminster Presbyterian Church (1301 Kimball Ave, Waterloo, IA 50702).

Cecelia Jean Schroeder wrote a sympathy message

“MG Curly Hultman was a good friend to all veterans and a dear mentor to me in my military career. I worked for him as a civilian in the Army Reserve and also on the military side. I had a lot of contact with him after his retirement as he continued to serve in the ROA and CIOR. He always had a smile for everyone he met and his stature was much taller than his physical height. He will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace along with Betty.”
