He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton E. Hartson and Lorraine Kist Hartson; his wife Nancy Lee Evans; and his siblings, Duane Hartson, LaVonne Franke, Janice Halverson, Lois Wilson, Phyllis Card, Carole Clarin and Sharon Slater.
He is survived by: his children, Rick Spooner (Anna) of Tiffin, Darren Spooner (Caroline) of Omaha and Jennifer Smith (Terry) of Waterloo; his grandchildren, Kane, Kale, Valerie and TJ; his brothers-in-law, Scott Evans of Waterloo and Kermitt Clarin of Stacy, MN; and his friend Claudette Ferrie. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
