With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Essie L. Henderson Buls of Waterloo, Iowa, who passed away on December 14, 2020 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Russell Wright and Maggie Smith Wright; and her siblings, Robert Wright, Don Wright, Leroy Wright, Thomas Wright, Richard Martin, Barbara Wilder, Bertha Jackson, Mattie MacMillian and Ann Knoxs.
She is survived by: her former husband Frank Henderson; her husband Pastor Obadiah of Waterloo; her children, Virginia Henderson of Waterloo, Qualia Buls of Waterloo, Nikia Buls of Waterloo, James Buls of Waterloo, Isaiah Buls of Waterloo and Oliver Buls of Waterloo; and her siblings, Darlene Williams of Waterloo, Delores Franklin (Willie) of Cedar Rapids, Teresa Moore of Des Moines, James Wright (Lisa) of Des Moines, Clifford Wright of Des Moines, Lonnie Wright (Quintella) of Cedar Rapids, Duane Wright of Fort Madison, Floyd Wright (Linda) of Des Moines and Dean Wright of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
