He was predeceased by: his parents, Phillip Frank and Eva Louise Dawson Carpenter; his stepchildren, Audrey Donaldson, Dorothy Simpson and James Harlan; and his sisters, Helen Carpenter and Beth Carpenter.
He is survived by: his spouse Marge McTagert June; his daughter Lorraine Benda (Mike) of Garden Grove; his stepdaughter Mary Jane Bennett of Minnesota; his grandchildren, Edward Benda (Carrie), Lacey Paine (Daniel), Becky Savage (Justin) and Rick Benda (Leslie); and his great grandchildren, Alexis, Kelsey, Sidney, Avery, Oliver, Cooper, Clay, Cole, Carly, Riley and Paisley.
