He was predeceased by: his parents, George Shoultz and Johanna Bartenhagen Shoultz; his wife Dianne Hunemuller; and his siblings, Raymond, David Shoultz and Marjorie Dipple.
He is survived by: his children, Lori Shoultz of Waterloo, Meghan Super (Matt) of Blaine, MN and Gregg Shoultz (Amy) of Abuja, Nigeria; his grandchildren, Breanne Ticknor (Neal), Peter Shoultz, Sophie Shoultz, Natalie Shoultz, Callie Walter, Sam Cooper, Bee Cooper, Max Super, Gus Super and Henry Super; his great grandchildren, Kaelyn Raney, Alivia Raney, Brilee Raney and Parker Ticknor; and his siblings, Willajean Ziegenhorn (Maurice), Deanne Miller (Ron) and Wayne Shoultz (Judy).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa Public Radio, the American Cancer Society, or the UNI Foundation Wanda & Carl Wehner Mathematics Education Endowment Scholarship.
