He was predeceased by: his parents, Clair Maurer and Eileen Teisinger Maurer; his children, Dennis Maurer, Jr. and Cathy Wright; and his son-in-law Gary Wright.
He is survived by: his wife Marge of Waterloo; his children, Debbie (Mike Bathke) of Oelwein, Julie Yungtum (Dan) of Dunkerton, David Maurer (Erin) of Fairbank, Christine Spiegel of Waterloo and Jennifer Zurawski (Daryl) of St. Charles; and his brothers, Gene Maurer (Carolyn) of Waterville and Lowell Maurer (Darlene) of Waterloo. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
