He was predeceased by: his parents, Richie Thomas and Katherine Thomas (Gaffney); and his former wife Naomi Huffman. He is survived by: his wife Lisa Miller of Waterloo; his children, Cindy Pierce (Jim) of Des Moines, Terri Martin (Tom) of Cedar Rapids and Mike Thomas of Cedar Rapids; and his grandchildren, AJ Shimp (Michelle), Stephanie Beechum (Kanika), Austin Pierce, Noah Martin (Molly) and Nicholas Martin (Jessi). He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
