He was predeceased by: his parents, Richie Thomas and Katherine Thomas (Gaffney); and his former wife Naomi Huffman. He is survived by: his wife Lisa Miller of Waterloo; his children, Cindy Pierce (Jim) of Des Moines, Terri Martin (Tom) of Cedar Rapids and Mike Thomas of Cedar Rapids; and his grandchildren, AJ Shimp (Michelle), Stephanie Beechum (Kanika), Austin Pierce, Noah Martin (Molly) and Nicholas Martin (Jessi). He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 29th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Cedar Valley Church (3520 Ansborough Ave, Waterloo, IA 50701). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 29th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be directed to the family, as they continue to honor Dearl's incredible legacy of love, faith and service.
