He was predeceased by: his parents, Marcus Gilbertson and Selma Gilbertson (Sanderson); his son Mark Gilbertson; and his brothers-in-law, Merlyn Klocke and Bob Teff.
He is survived by: his wife Betty; his children, Doug Gilbertson (Lynn) and Deb Reinard (Rob); his grandchildren, Jordan Reinard (Melissa), Mason Reinard (Brooke), Zach Johnson (Carissa), Tony Widdel (Cari) and Ryan Widdel (Cristina); his sister Delores Spiegelhalter; and his sisters-in-law, Alyce Klocke and Annie Teff. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
