He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Pettit and Evelyn Nielsen Pettit; his daughter Tiffany Pettit; his sister Kim; his sister-in-law Lela; and his mother-in-law Trudi.

He is survived by: his wife Kara of Waterloo; his children, Amber Pettit of Waterloo, Dani Relaz (Katie Schad) of Trevor, WI, Stephany Pettit of Waverly, Michael Relaz (Devan Mendralla) of Waterloo, Alex Pettit (Megan) of Waterloo and Sabrina Relaz of Waterloo; and his grandchildren, Lily, Sylas, Logan, Jackson, Theo, Savannah and Puck. He is also survived by extended family; and many friends.

As a show of sympathy, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Lori's Dream Team or the Cedar Bend Humane Society.
