He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Aaron Stafford and Laura Eisele Stafford; his spouse Alberta Sinkey; his sons, Mike (Colleen) of Cedar Falls, Tom of Des Moines, Jeff (Kathy) of Fayetteville and Joe (Teresa) of Dunkerton; his daughter-in-law Ada Stafford; and his sisters, Virginia Platt, Alta Hekel, Betty Kroblin and Polly Mills. He was also cherished by 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
