He was predeceased by: his great-grandparents, James, Maxine Schmitz, Bill, Kathleen Filloon and Al Streb.
He is survived by: his parents, Brad Schmitz and Stacy Streb Schmitz; his sister Callie Schmitz of Hudson; his grandparents, Nick, Stephanie Schmitz of Raymond, Mike and Lori Streb of Iowa City; and his great-grandparents, Doug, Judi Poppen of Allison and Mary Jo Streb of Iowa City.
