He was predeceased by: his parents, Abram Swaim and Dorothy Peterson Swaim; his siblings, Ronald, Harlan, Karen DeMaris and Diane Ott; his son-in-law Tom Cozart; and his great grandchild Piper Schaefer.
He is survived by: his spouse Verlynn "Lynn" Beal; and his children, Carla Schaefer (Gene) of Gilbert, Lorrie Oldenburger (Dave) of Readlyn, Susan Uhlenhake of Waterloo and Dan Swaim of Waterloo. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
