She is survived by: her husband Chris of Waterloo; her daughters, Ashley Lemper of Cedar Falls and Chelsea Lemper of Huxley; her siblings, Mindy Genetzky Haugen (Russ) of Elk Ridge and Corey Genetzky (Renae) of Bismark; her nieces, Brittany Yoder (Zac), Jetta and Kyra Genetzky; and her great-nephew Easton Yoder.

“I am so sorry to hear about Brenda's passing. I knew her at UND. She was friendly and had such a sweet personality that you immediately wanted to be around her. She was a good listener, genuine and always had a smile for you. She sang at the Newman Center with us, "raising the roof." We enjoyed campus, laughing at plays or crying at movies like "Steel Magnolias." She bicycled all over Grand Forks. I admired her spirit and zest for life.
