She was predeceased by: her parents, Lucky Mickens and Betty Jean Smith Mickens; her daughter Kimbly Marie Gillum-Caples; her son-in-law Ronald Green, Sr.; and her siblings, Stanley Rice and Rose Marie Simms.
She is survived by: her former husband Howard Gillum; her children, Michael Todd Gillum, Sr. of Colorado and Angela Gillum-Green of Waterloo; her brother Benjamin C. Williams, Jr. (Bonny) of Des Moines; and her grandchildren, Kaiden Gillum (Kendall), T'aire Caples, Tamara Caples, Rose Levingston, Joyce Levingston, Andrea Caples, Antoine Caples, Nathan Williams (Alicia), Yvonne Caples, Aaron Gillum (Khadijah), Michael Todd Gillum Jr. and Breanna Gillum (Harvey). She is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren.
