It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Arlyn A. Hesse (Waterloo, Iowa), born in Tripoli, Iowa, who passed away on May 14, 2020, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, August Hesse and Hulda Hesse (Kleis); and his sisters, Lucille Johnson, Mercede House, Ila Eliott, Marlys Goodenbour and Barbara Seelhammer.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Heine; his children, Rhine River Cruise and Tammy Pierson (Mark); his grandchildren, Heidi Williams (Justin), Hillary White (Abby), Ian Pierson (Emily Alexander), Kirk Hesse (Deb) and Nick Hesse (Emily); his great grandchildren, Kaeden Meissen, Lincoln, Bailey, Matt Hesse (Lisa), Philip and Alice; his brother Kelly Hesse (Lynn); and his siblings-in-law, Lou Fortsch and Fritz Heine. He is also survived by his wife, children and grandchildren.
Arlyn August Hesse, 87, died at UnityPoint Iowa Methodist Medical Center due to complications of Covid19 on May 14, 2020.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church or Iowa PBS.
