He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen W. Groesbeck and Leona Groesbeck (Rowley); his former wife Roma E. Groesbeck; his wife Bonnie C. Groesbeck; his daughters, Carol Sawyer and Judy Vaughn; his son-in-law Lorne Lee; and his siblings, Byron, Ronald, Jerry Groesbeck and Darlene McLaughlin.

He is survived by: his children, John (Margaret), Gene Elin (Marlene) of Nashville, TN, Alan N. Groesbeck (Marci) of Independence, IA, Tina Steinbron (Earl) of Jesup, IA and Debra Lee of Independence, IA; and his sister-in-law Ruth Groesbeck. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren.
