It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wayne Edward Zieser of Washington, Iowa, born in Walker, Iowa, who passed away on July 14, 2023, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the restoration of the Tall Corn Display at the Iowa State Fair and the Washington County Fair and for the Tall Corn Contest at the Washington County Fair.

“I am so saddened by Wayne’s sudden departure. I was lucky enough to play pickleball with him. He loved the game. He was such a kind guy and was always a pleasure to visit with him. I am so broken hearted. I will miss him. I didn't get to meet his family, but he spoke of them with love in his heart. Please know he will be deeply missed by our PB group. My prayers are with his family at this difficult time.”
